Walt has a diverse and extensive background in the arts. Schooled in commercial art at the Art Institute of Pittsburg, he went on to study at the New York Institute of Photography. Introduced to ceramics in Orlando, it soon became Walt’s primary focus. After his move to Key West in 1975, his work shifted to reflect the bright tropical hues of the Caribbean. This vibrancy is found in his hand-painted tiles, handmade clocks, and custom designed wall sculptures. Moving Walt has exhibited up and down the east coast, as well as conducted workshops at the Brookfield Crafts Center in Connecticut and his former studio in Key West. His work can be found in art centers, galleries and gift shops, as well as private collections. The combination of fired clay and metal opens up many possibilities. All work is one of a kind, no two are exactly alike. With this in mind, colors and sizes may vary. Custom orders are welcome and with the large palette of color to choose from anything is possible.
